BDF Composite Underground Water Tank Solution for Modern Commercial Parks

BDF underground tanks in a Dubai commercial park ensure fire safety, domestic supply, and efficient secondary water systems.

This project is located in a newly constructed modern commercial park in Dubai. The park includes multiple office buildings, commercial facilities, dining areas, and supporting service facilities.

As the construction of the park progresses, the management team identified the need to implement a reliable water infrastructure, and therefore adopted BDF composite water tanks to address the following water supply challenges:

BDF Composite Underground Water Tank Solution for Modern Commercial Parks
  • Fire-fighting water supply: The fire safety requirements in the park are high, necessitating a sufficient and reliable emergency water supply system.
  • Domestic water supply: The daily water demand for office buildings, dining areas, and other facilities is significant, especially during peak periods.
  • Centralized and secondary water supply needs: Due to the large size of the park, a single water supply method may not meet the demands of all buildings, so a centralized water supply system is required. Additionally, a secondary water supply system is necessary to adjust to varying water pressure needs.

Solution

Based on the client’s requirements, we recommended the use of multiple BDF composite water tanks as the key components for both centralized and secondary water supply systems. The specific design solution is as follows:

  1. Selection and Layout of BDF Composite Water Tanks
    • BDF composite water tanks are chosen, made of stainless steel and fiberglass composite materials, offering high strength, corrosion resistance, and strong pressure resistance, making them ideal for long-term use in the park’s complex environment.
    • The total water tank capacity is 500m³, divided into several modular units, each with a volume of 50m³, allowing for flexible configuration according to the park’s needs.
    • The design of the BDF water tanks ensures earthquake resistance and high strength, making them suitable for buried installation. The overall structure is stable, and the tanks are not affected by environmental temperature, making them ideal for underground space applications.
  2. Fire-fighting Water Supply System
    • Each BDF water tank unit is equipped with independent fire-fighting water supply connections, linked to the park’s fire pump house through an automated control system, ensuring a rapid response in case of emergency.
    • The system is also equipped with water level monitoring and water quality detection functions to ensure the water quality meets fire-fighting standards and can provide a stable water supply.
  3. Domestic and Secondary Water Supply Systems
    • In addition to providing fire-fighting water, the BDF water tanks also meet the domestic water supply needs of the park. To maintain stable water pressure, the tank system is connected to the park’s secondary water supply pump house.
    • The water inside the tanks is pressurized through variable frequency pumps to ensure stable water pressure throughout the buildings in the park.
    • During regular operation, the system automatically adjusts the water level and pressure to ensure the water supply system operates efficiently.

Summary

This project successfully addressed the fire-fighting water supply, domestic water supply, and secondary water supply issues in the modern commercial park through the use of BDF composite water tanks and an integrated water supply system. It not only enhanced the water efficiency of the park but also met green and environmental standards, showcasing the application prospects of intelligent and sustainable development technologies in park construction.
