Modular Insulated Water Tank

An insulated water tank is a standard modular water tank with an additional layer of insulation applied to its exterior, matching the tank’s dimensions. This design allows the tank to meet the requirements of different climates and operating conditions.

Typically, the insulation panels are composite panels made of polyurethane foam (PUF) as the core material, with an outer layer of color-coated steel sheets.

Insulated Water Storage Tanks

Insulation layers can be added to GRP, pressed galvanized steel, or stainless steel water tanks. The layer is independent from the tank panels, providing flexible modular solutions while ensuring long-lasting thermal performance and water quality.

Insulated GRP Sectional Panel Water Tank

Modular GRP water panels are bolted together to form a sectional tank. An integrated insulation layer, typically 50mm polyurethane (PU) foam, provides superior thermal performance and keeps water temperature stable.

Insulated Stainless Pressed Steel Water Tank

The insulation layer in stainless steel pressed water tanks reduces heat transfer between stored water and the external environment, ensuring excellent thermal insulation and energy efficiency for industrial, commercial, or residential applications.

In colder regions or areas with significant temperature fluctuations, adding an insulation layer to the water tank provides multiple benefits:

• Ensures stable drinking water year-round and maintains water cleanliness.
• Enhances structural stability under special operating conditions.
• Extends service life by reducing stress from temperature changes and protecting the tank material from aging.

Polyurethane foam (PUF) is commonly used due to its excellent thermal resistance and low thermal conductivity. It adheres well to the tank surface, and its lightweight properties make transportation, handling, and installation convenient.

Insulation Layer Design

The insulation layer of our sectional water tank is installed independently outside the tank body. It mainly uses polyurethane foam boards with a thickness of 5–50 mm, which are pressed together with stainless steel panels.

The bottom insulation layer and side panel insulation layer generally use the same insulated panels, but can also be customized according to requirements, using materials such as rubber, rock wool, or plastic insulation boards.

These materials are relatively inexpensive while offering excellent thermal insulation performance. They effectively maintain the water temperature inside the tank, reduce heat loss, and help achieve energy savings and lower power consumption.
